I stopped watching TV news, and even listening to radio news (excepting the local high school show) a few years ago. The shows were reading tweets, texts, and other social media comments, rather than reporting either braking or indepth news.

I read now, and my mental health has improved.

The dumpster-fire newscoverage when someone lights a tiny match and films a close-up, screaming" Fire fire look at the fire..." that they set themselves, puts all news on the same level. If everything is an emergency, then nothing is an emergency or worthy of my attention.

Thanks for posting this, Jennifer. Maybe it's time that people get the idea that we're all in one big pot of boiling water that's being turned up a degree of so at a time. Perhaps citizens banding together to start news operations on the internet will help us all for a bit; It's worth a try.
